What personal data does MAPS collect?
The data we routinely collect includes members’ names, addresses, email addresses, and dates of birth. We collect this data directly from our members when they join the organisation or if we need to refer you to trusted third parties. Other information allows us to make up a unique reference number, provide details of your service, your victim status and confirmation of VSS organisation membership.
We use members’ data for the administration of your membership; the communication of information, and the organisation of events.
Why do we collect your information?
In the course of running the organisation we gather, store and use this information to provide you, as a member, information about the organisation, our services and other matters of legitimate interest.
What data do we keep?
Generally it will be the information in your membership form along with copies of any paperwork that we complete on your behalf, and instructions.
Visitors to our websites
When someone visits www.mapswesttyrone.org.uk the existing privacy notice says standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns may be collected. It says this is used to understand use of the site without identifying individual visitors.
If you send a query using the contact form, MAPS will collect your email address and any information you disclose in that message so the organisation can respond.
Who is your data shared with?
MAPS only shares information with trusted third-party partners when a referral is needed and with your consent. Such partners may be other military and police charities, organisations or support groups.
Your personal data is not passed on by MAPS to organisations other than those indicated above and then only with your consent.

Data for members comes from them when they join MAPS or when they update their information.

The existing notice states that information is mainly stored as written documents and in a computer membership contact list held at MAPS.

The existing notice states that member data may be retained after membership ends in case the person later rejoins, but that former members can request deletion of their contact details. Other records, including accounting and personnel records, may be kept for legally required periods.
